Reflections on March

This past month was all about discipline, momentum, and a dash of creative problem-solving. I stuck (mostly) to a 3:00 AM routine—early to bed, early to rise—and it gave me so much space to focus deeply on the things I really wanted to get done. Between refactoring our search service (not the most glamorous job, but it had to be done) and taking big leaps toward deploying new AWS components like ECS clusters/services, there was a lot on my plate.

Systematic Workflows

One of the biggest highlights was designing a more systematic workflow for adding deployment components. Instead of manually wrangling prompts, specs, and documentation every time, I used ChatGPT to generate consistent code and docs, then wrapped that entire workflow into a few CLI commands. It was a total game-changer—no more guesswork, no more one-off solutions. If we keep this up, people will be able to confidently assume that any popular resource they need will exist in our deployment component store.

The Reality Check

Honestly, the month wasn't all sunshine. I had moments of feeling frustrated or overwhelmed—running on little sleep does that to you sometimes. But I kept reminding myself: every small action, whether it's a refactor or a new CLI command, adds up. It's inching the product forward to a place where everything becomes simpler, faster, and more fun to build on.

A Pep Talk to Myself

Here's a short pep talk for myself: Keep at it. The 3 AM wake-ups, the extra round of testing, the quiet behind-the-scenes updates—all of it is laying a foundation for bigger breakthroughs. It's not supposed to be flashy every day. Sometimes the real pride comes from just knowing you showed up, put in the work, and moved the ball forward.
